Membership Fees

Membership with the SAQ runs from the 1st of October to the following 30th of September of a given year. All members are required to pay fees as set at the Annual General Meeting every October.

Members are classified as:

Junior Member – a child under 18 years of age.  A Junior member is eligible to register a gelding, filly or mare in their name and to participate in the SAQ Annual Awards and National High Point Competition, but is not eligible to vote on issues pertaining to the running of the Association.

Single Member – a person 18 years or older.  A Single member is eligible to register a horse in their name, participate in the SAQ Annual Awards and National High Point Competition, nominate for Committee membership and to vote on issues pertaining to the running of the Association.

Family Membership – parents/partners and  up to 5 children (by birth, legally adopted, legally fostered) residing at the same address and where the child / children are under the age of 18 years.  A Family can register horses in the family or individual name, participate in the SAQ awards and National High Points Competition, nominate adult family members to the Committee and have two (2) votes on issues pertaining to the running of the Association.  Members of a family who are 18 years or over, either living at home or residing elsewhere, must secure individual membership(s) in order to register a horse in their name, purchase a Performance Card, nominate for Committee membership and to vote on issues pertaining to the running of the Association.

Associate Member – a person who wishes to join the SAQ as a means of supporting the work of the Association but who does not wish to register a horse, participate in the SAQ Annual Awards, SAQ States Championships and National High Point Competition, or be eligible to vote on issues pertaining to the running of the Association.  Is allowed to participate at 2(two) SAQ events for the price as a member and is insured for these events with the SAQ.
