SAQ Trail Blazers - Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Ride - Fernvale - Lowood

Date : Saturday 7th January, 2012

Venue : Start Point - we will assemble at Fiona Lanes property - 46 Clive Street, Fernvale from 8am and leave at 9am sharp.

Trail Ride Starts : 9.00am sharp

- The trail ride is 8.5km in distance. The trail features a compacted gravel road base suited to people with a low to moderate fitness level - this particular section is especially suited to families. The 8.5km length is a comfortable 30 minute bike ride and a moderate 1 3/4 hour walk. We will be stoping half way for lunch and drinks.

ALL riders to be suitably attired with a well fitted approved safety helmet and riding boots.

- We ask that ALL riders at SAQ events conduct themselves in a safe orderly manner, whilst in control of their horses (on ground or ridden) being respectful and mindful of all participants around them including during break periods.

***2011/2012 SAQ Annual Awards***

The SAQ Committee is currently working on the 2011/2012 SAQ Annual Awards. An announcement will be made shortly to notify members of the Awards on offer.

Make sure that if you are out and about competing with your Standardbred, that you complete a Annual Awards Score Card (can be downloaded from the Forms section of the Website) and have an official sign against your results. These completed cards can then be forwarded to the Events Co-Ordinator for this seasons awards.

***Newcomer Horse Show Prep Clinic***

Sunday 13th February 2011

Time: 8am - 4pm

45-54 Queen Street, Marburg Showgrounds, Marburg

Learn the tricks of the trade on how to present your horse with various demonstrations, individual and group activities, including: plaiting up, applying make up, trimming, ring etiquette and showmanship. We are pleased to announce that Emily Wonka from Saddleworld Ipswich will be our main presenter for the day. Emily is an accredited Show Horse Judge and is up with the latest criteria on what judges are looking for in the show ring.

To complete the day, SAQ will be holding a Prep Show With Best Presented, Led and Ridden Classes Ribbons & Prizes, including: Best SAQ Adopted Horse of the Day

Every attendee will receive a rider bag packed with show goodies and information!

Saddleworld Ipswich will also have Show Preparation products available for Sale!

BBQ Lunch and Drink will be provided, Bacon and Egg Sandwiches and drinks available to purchase on the day.

$35 per Horse & Handler (For SAQ Members)

$25 per Fence Sitter (For SAQ Members)

Non-Members add $10 for day insurance
